NFP Commentary Global Markets

NFP Commentary – The US December jobs report was disappointing, with weak payroll, workweek, hours-worked and average hourly earnings data that partly reversed upside surprises in the prior two months, though we still have a respectable trajectory for the economy into year end. US equities are making modest headway in pre-market trading, as bullish momentum persists in the wake of the de-escalated US-Iran tensions. The jobs report was a tad disappointing but not troublesome, as the data showed that the strong momentum in the US labour market remained in place.
